Therese Ryan is a highly qualified Physiotherapist with extensive expertise in Sports Medicine, Chronic Pain, and advanced Therapeutic techniques.
She graduated with a BSc (Honours) in Physiotherapy from the University of East London in 1992 and earned a Master’s Degree in Sports Medicine from Trinity College Dublin in 1997.
In 2003, she completed a long-term residential teacher training course at the Sivananda Ashram in the Catskill Mountains, New York, becoming a certified Yoga Teacher.
Therese is also a skilled practitioner of Deep Dry Needling using the Travell & Simons Approach and is certified in Functional Movement Screening (FMS) and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), with training in London and Amsterdam. In recent years, she expanded her expertise by becoming a Pilates Instructor and integrating the Pilates Reformer into her Clinical practice.
Therese has a particular interest in Chronic Pain, Unresponsive Sports Injuries, and Fascia. She specialises in addressing dysfunctional fascia and its impact on abnormal Movement patterns, Chronic pain, Dysfunctional breathing patterns and Recurring Sports injuries.
Therese, as a Chartered Physiotherapist, has dedicated her career to understanding and treating the complexities of Chronic Pain. With years of experience and specialised training, she recognises that Chronic Pain is a multifaceted condition, often involving a combination of physical, neurological, and emotional factors.
Therese’s approach to Chronic Pain goes beyond symptom management, delving into the root causes of discomfort. She understands that pain can persist due to dysfunctional movement patterns, restrictions in the fascia, dysfunctional breathing patterns and heightened sensitivity within the nervous system. By addressing these underlying issues, she aims to provide long-term relief and restore balance to her patients’ lives.
Her work involves a deep exploration of how Chronic Pain impacts the body as a whole. She employs a range of techniques, including manual therapy, functional movement retraining, and breathwork, to help patients overcome their pain. Therese also educates her patients about the science of pain, empowering them with knowledge and strategies to regain control of their bodies.

Therese owns and directs two Physio Labs, located in Thurles and Templemore, where she offers specialised treatments to her clients. She is a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and is Coru Registered.
