Paul Hogan is my name. I’m a marathon/ultra marathon runner. To date, I’ve ran over 180 marathons/ultra marathons. I’m a regular Pacer at marathons here in Ireland and have paced marathons in Europe.
I found The Physio Lab and its Recovery Lab in Templemore in August 2024. I had completed a 24hr track event where I covered a distance of over 100 miles. I felt my recovery needed something extra and I got chatting to Ned and his team in the Recovery Lab, who suggested I start using the contrast therapy which really helped my recovery and had me back pacing the marathon distance a couple weeks later in Dingle.
Previous to this, in December 2023, I was diagnosed with a herniated disk in my lower back and at times it caused me pain and discomfort.
After having a flare-up in October 2024, I was chatting to Therese and she suggested I use the Cryo Chamber (-190 degrees) in The Physio/Recovery Lab, Templemore and the BTL Spinal Decompression bed located in the Physio Lab, Thurles.
After a couple of sessions, both my discomfort and pain were greatly reduced and I was back on pacing duties at the Dublin Marathon by the end of October.
The Physio Lab / Recovery Lab in Templemore has now become part of my weekly training schedule. I would recommend anyone involved in running to consider using the Recovery Lab / Physio Lab not just when you’re injured but as part of your weekly routine.
